This is a cosy and relaxing nursery, created with a variety of nooks and dramatic, warm and dark colours. Does the idea of a pastel pink or baby blue nursery give you the shivers? Then this is the dream baby decor for you…
The room was inspired by the asian-style bedspread. Mitraillette, striving for something a little different, picked out the khaki and chinese red to paint the walls. She cleverly uses lighting to create focal areas; the small chinese lanterns above the cot, the lamp beside the rocking chair and the cubby hole next to the tiny window. Deep, dark wooden furniture completes her statement nursery.
A global feel was Mitraillette’s intent, as she majored in foreign policy. This nursery receives a high distinction!

This is not for everyone, that’s for sure. But if you have a blank wall needs to be covered quickly… and you imagined a mural… yet not those baby-style painterly murals… something a little more adult… if not - well - seventies… and you imagine pasting it up with an ironic smile… then this is the mural for you!
Well done Dana - what a brilliant idea!

I’ll be featuring palettes from our Colour Lovers group to inspire your nursery colour scheme. “Fruit tree” is a sophisticated palette, ideal for a gender neutral nursery. The mandarin, used as an accent, will give your nursery some serious POP!

Andri and his partner are fans of colour (can you tell)? As they were aiming for a gender-neutral nursery, they chose yellow for the feature wall, with a graphic decal illustrated by Undoboy. What I most enjoy is the hot air balloon lightshade with finger puppet passengers. It looks like it has literally popped off the wall! With this detail, they have created a three-dimensional whimsical wonderland for their baby.
